Designed to create an exterior seating piece that embodies the cultural union across the border between San Diego and Tijuana. This project showcases the geographical landscape of Southern California while highlighting the rich cultural heritage of Mexico, merging both influences into a cohesive and inspiring design.

Using traditional fabric that is handmade in Mexico.
Designed to display the fabric as a seating area reminiscent of how the textile is displayed in markets.
Showcasing the rocky landscape of California with the cement finish.
Lastly, a callback to the sunny San Diego and Baja beaches through the wave design of the backrest.

IDEATION
Initial sketches and designs leading up to three concepts of which one will be chosen to move forward with.

3D MODELING & RENDERING
Modeling the concept while making not of measurements and proportions. Then applying color, material, texture and environment to model.

Making small models to prototype shape, structure, and materials that will be using in the final construction
